We will be mainly focusing here on the role of the Visa Section at the British Embassy which is located on King Charles street,London SW1A 2AH, and specifically on those British Government Civil Servants who are the 'Entry Clearance officers', Entry Clearance officers are civil servants who have been posted abroad to work in Foreign Embassies and have the job of interpreting the rules allowing overseas visitors to enter the United Kingdom, whether it be as a tourist, an investor, a business person, but more of interest to us, as the spouse or fiancee/fiance of a person 'who is presently settled in the United Kingdom.

There does appear to be a rather frosty attitude shown towards sponsors at the Embassy, (failing to provide some sort of waiting area for sponsors has been the number 1 complaint, secondly, the attitude of the Entry Clearance Manager and others at the British Embassy has been listed as major complaint number 2), this has led to feelings of alienation and frustration with the Visa section, without any course for re-dress or complaint to Her Britannic Majesty's Ambassador.
