I'm still trying to get a Captcha image on my Guestbook, haven't found the places where I have to alter 777 permissions and when I try to make a test post, it says I have triggered off some suspicious activity! I'll keep banging at it, but help if you can, I'd appreciate it.

I can't find where to alter the posts to 777 etc. Gordon Bennet I've looked all over and it's really bugging me now!
Also, if that weren't enough - my capcha isn't working, there's just a red cross instead.
I'll keep going on this 'cos I hate to give up, but I'd sure appreciate a helping hand if there is one? Steve

Thanks Steve mind that the new antispam feature is not present in the last wcs version, will be added in a future release. Cheers Andrea

Testing to checkout the new antispam features...

I've been very happy with the older WCS version, BTW.

hi andrea! found the solution to my post below (Posted by rom April 24, 2011 - 03:49 am). i outputted the guestbook contents to a text file then called it from my php guestbook file. it's working perfectly now, check it out at http://design.byromedia.com

you might even want to add it to your installs list. thanks so much, keep doin a great job!

hi andrea! first of all awesome job! i have a problem though, i recently changed my guestbook file to php from plain html coz i needed some scripting in it. but i can't set its permission to 664 coz am just using a free host and they wouldn't let me. now my guestbook file can't be written to by your script :/

any workaround to this? please. thanks so much

I have got your guestbook up and running but when I try deleting an entry it keeps saying this: Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/barlingpouuk/public_html/include/classes.php on line 378

Please advise?

One last note. Using Microsoft Expression Web when I go into the admin.html file and hold ctrl and hit the php_guestbook_php link it finds the file so I know that it can see it!

Posted by JerryMarch 26, 2011 - 08:46 pmeaglesclaw@comcast.net
I have installed everything listed. PHP version, GDI Library and the geo ip file. I am running windows 7. It does not post when I hit submit. I have set permissions for windows. I'm sure I could get it going if I could enter the admin page but when I enter the default password it says php_guestbook_php could not be found. Every file is in the folder as it came. Any help would be appreciated as I'm setting up the guest book for a memorial page I built for my mother who recently passed away. The link is http://eaglesnest.dyndns.biz/Carol%20Ann%20Horine%20Pitts.htm You will see the guestbook link on the left side about 1/4 of the way down. Also when you load the guestbook it takes forever trying to load trying to download the GetCaptcha.
Thank you! Jerry

Hello Andrea, Thank you for your suggestions.

Posted by AndreaMarch 18, 2011 - 02:45 pm
Hello Ashley, in order to have multiple guestbooks you need to have multiple installations of the software (unless you are using the wcs), in distinct folders. The suspicious activity message has to do with the ajax verification, it could be that you did not carry over ALL the required javascript from the provided html template. I suggest you try with an out of the box install in a brand new folder, and use the provided html page as a guestbook. Once this works, you build from there. Then, for any additional guestbook, you can create a new folder and start over.

I wish to have multiple guest books on my site. When I install the guest book on a second page and try to enter a comment, I get a message that says script stopped for suspicious activity. Please help.
